I respect Indian culture a great deal. If you read more of my blog you would see that I do not have a very high opinion of Western culture either. If anything, I have adapted more to Indian culture than my husband to mine. But, he chose me, a woman who did not fit in his culture and that was HIS choice. I did not steal him away.

However, besides marrying me, my husband is very true to his culture. He chose love but other than that he is a loyal Hindu from Tamil Nadu. In fact, he was so worried about his choice in the beginning that he often talked about “Indian love” versus what he called “American love” and he was afraid I would not remain true to him because of what he knew of American culture. But, after 3 years of both of us waiting just to be together, we have earned each other’s trust and now we know it is just love, not one country’s or another. For better or for worse, I’m going to be there until the end,
